Platelet Rich Plasma
Known as the Vampire Facelift, endorsed by celebrities, the platelet-rich plasma (PRP) uses the body’s own platelet, which consists of growth factors that help in skin repair and/ or healing and rejuvenation.
A small amount of the client’s own blood is taken and put into a centrifuge to create the platelet – rich plasma. Made into an injection, once injected into specific parts of the body can be used for rejuvenation of your face, hair and body.
Plasma is the clear liquid part of the blood, which carries out many functions in the body including healing and hydration. When PRP is injected into the skin, growth factors are released to promote collagen production and youthful appearance.
While working to rejuvenate the skin, this treatment is an excellent tool to combat acne scars, fine lines, and helps to even skin tone. It is also an effective cure for stretch marks and adds volume to the face. The PRP improves your skin appearance, regenerates collagen and restores your youthful look.
Prior to the treatment (and the collection of your blood sample to be used to derive the PRP), a numbing cream would be applied to the injection area so as to ease you of any pain you might experience during the process.
You would normally require a total amount of 3treatments administered every 4-6weeks, which could last up to 18months. There are no serious side effects attached to this treatment as you are using your own blood, besides minor and short-lived ones like bruising, tenderness and/or redness.
